The changing of the seasons is ideal for making soup, and what a great way to begin any soup, but with homemade stock

 
 

Homemade Stock Recipe

  • Fill a large stockpot with your favorite Root veggies. I like to include:

    • 3 Carrots

    • 3 celery stalks

    • 2 Vidalia onions cut in half

    • 2 heads of garlic cut in half

    • Include your favorite aromatics:

      • 3 bay leaves

      • Palm full of Peppercorns

      • 4 teaspoins of kosher salt

      • 1 bunch of parsley and thyme

        • If you would like to make this a chicken or turkey stock version, make sure to put the carcass in prior to the veggies. once full, fill with water, put the lid on the pot and bring to boil. Then, reduce the heat to l ow and let simmer for 2.5-3 hours. Let cool and then strain the stock into glass jar or storage containers. USe immediately or freeze up to 6 months.

This is a busy time to buy or sell a home. There is a rush to close before The holidays and the New year. But, if you decide to wait for Spring, the fall is an ideal time to fix up your home; touch up paint, fall clean up in your yard, and decluttering OF closets of summer clothing that was not worn
